In mid-October 2014, Preferred Materials, Inc. began a 4-mile resurfacing project of Pelican Bay Blvd. in Naples, FL. This 45-day project required 9,200 tons of asphalt and included the task of protecting the existing brick pavers crossing the roadways throughout the community. The Pelican Bay community is extremely appreciative of having Pelican Bay Blvd. resurfaced, and for the professional manner in which the work was executed. According to Jim Hoppensteadt, President and COO of the Pelican Bay Foundation, “The resurfacing of Pelican Bay Blvd., performed by Preferred Materials, Inc., was remarkable in its efficiency and quality. The job was planned and executed with minimal disruption, was completed ahead of the schedule we had anticipated, and was performed in a manner respectful and considerate of residents and users of the roadway.”

Project started May 2012. Prince Contracting was awarded this $54M FDOT project, and selected Preferred Materials to supply over 65K tons of asphalt, and 6K yd3 of concrete.
