Project: I-75 (SR 93) Airport Access at RSW International
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Company: Preferred Materials Inc.
In May 2012, Prince Contracting was awarded the I-75 (SR 93) Airport Access at Southwest Florida International Airport, a $54,000,000 Florida Department of Transportation Design Build project. This new interchange will provide direct access from I-75 straight to Southwest Florida International Airport alleviating congestion on Daniels Parkway, Alico Road and Treeline Avenue. The project’s scope includes the construction of five bridges, seven miles of northbound & southbound collector/distributor roads alongside I-75, and a new Terminal Access Road (TAR) interchange over I-75. Prince chose Preferred Materials to supply approximately 65,000 tons of asphalt and 6,000 yards of concrete as both divisions have manufacturing facilities within a few miles of the job.
“The project is about 65% completed and all pours have gone as scheduled. With three bridges done, Preferred has really stepped up to the plate and performed difficult work as expected. The asphalt has just begun but is off to a good start and we expect them to perform as well as their concrete counterparts.
In mid-October 2014, Preferred Materials, Inc. began a 4-mile resurfacing project of Pelican Bay Blvd. in Naples, FL.
Preferred Materials, Inc recently supplied over 6000 cubic yards of our specialty product DrainReady for use in the beach parking lots on Siesta Key.
Project started May 2012. Prince Contracting was awarded this $54M FDOT project, and selected Preferred Materials to supply over 65K tons of asphalt, and 6K yd3 of concrete.
