In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, nearly 100 Preferred Materials employees, family members and friends went out to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at The Shops at Wiregrass in Pasco County. The team was able to raise $2,340 and Preferred Materials matched the donation, to total $4,680.

Oldcastle Materials SE Division and Preferred Materials held a Grand Opening of their new corporate office in Lutz, Florida on February 6, 2015. The event was hosted by Rob Duke, SE Division President, and was well attended by valued customers, important politicians, prominent business leaders, and our fantastic employees. It was a perfect day and we were able to showcase our company, network with old friends and make new ones. Everyone enjoyed the music and, of course, a great BBQ lunch from local favorite, Hungry Harrys.

In June, Oldcastle Materials employees in Odessa, Fla., joined by the OMG Environmental Best Practice Group, planted 2,500 flowers, trees and shrubs, resulting in a pollinator garden with more than 90 different species of native plants. This is the first wildlife habitat site by the Preferred Materials – Concrete Division as part of the 2014 Preferred Materials Wildlife Garden Project.
